If you didn’t see last night’s episode of Game of Thrones, read no further.
.. well, at least one spoiler, anyway…
Jon Snow??? Really? Did they have to kill him last night?
Why kill him when they could have just not opened the gates when he returned with the Wildlings? The Watch would have been quite happy with that, *and* it would have been the best opportunity for Alliser Thorne to regain his position as Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch.
And, please, Snow didn’t see this coming at all? He knew they were all pissed at him for bringing the Wildlings inside. He let his guard down??
As with many character deaths in Game of Thrones, I’m really going to miss this guy. Seriously, though, I’ve found, in this series, there are two types of character death:
- The character you finally warmed up to, knowing good and well they’re going to eventually die and you’re going to be pissed about it
- The character that takes *forever* to die because they’re just so evil; but when they finally do die, you shout, “YES!!!” so loud, start jumping up and down and doing a victory dance, your spouse thinks you’re at a hockey game.
But is he really gone? The Lord of Light has brought one character back from the dead on multiple occasions.
But now, Season 5 has come to an end. We still have a long summer ahead of us, and then Winter is Coming after that. But if release dates follow the same pattern as previous seasons on HBO, we should find out in April of next year if Melisandre has any plans for bringing Jon Snow back from the dead in season 6.
